On June 15, 2006 - The first production batch of The Evil Monk was mixed and bottled at High Plains Distillery in Leavenworth, KS. The Evil Monk is the FIRST liqueur made in Kansas since Prohibition!
The outside of the High Plains Distillery (Home of Most Wanted Vodka - the BEST vodka around!) - and our friend Pat in the foreground, who helped us get the first batch mixed up!
This is the labeling machine, with a bunch of our 750ml bottles all ready to go.
Seth (left) and I mixing up base ingredients outside on the big propane burner...and yes, I'm stirring the mixture with an oar! Don't worry, Seth is not holding a big ball of plasma, he's holding a bag of one of our ingredients...but it's a trade secret...
The stainless steel tank behind me contains 100 GALLONS of The Evil Monk drink, waiting to be bottled!
Our "mini-Monk" 50 ml bottles coming off of the labeling line.
My favorite picture of the day, a FULL box of 1000 mini-Monk bottles!
Dad (Monkus Emeritus) and I (The Evil Monk) taking the VERY first taste of the first production batch. One word...YUMMY!
Dad and I filling and capping the 750mL bottles. This was toward the end of the day, so we were gettin tired.
The line heating the shrink wrap on the top of the bottles.
A full line of finished bottles, waiting to be put back in cases.
Dad and I standing in front of our first production run, 38 cases of 750mL bottles of The Evil Monk. Start asking for it in every liquor store, bar, and restaurant you go to... In Kansas, we will be distributed by Worldwide Wine and Spirits. |
